Poor design. This spatula is attractive, light weight, and comfortable to hold. Unfortunately, the front edge of the blade is so thick that it won’t go under the food, so you end up pushing food round the pan instead of picking it up! After the application of heavy sandpaper and a good deal of effort it now works the way it ought to, with a sharp front edge. Poor design.
Can it handle hot hot? Am not too sure it can handle a really hot enameled cast iron pan as the edge melted a teeny little bit just from trying to pick up fried eggs… Had an old Tefal spatula which did that but I bought this thinking it’s an improved version by Brabantia. Wish they had made this using silicone as it seems to handle heat better.
very good Very pleased with this and all the range – (I bought one of almost the entire range) – Very well made and designed. I particularly think the plastic business end is useful so you don’t scratch your pans when using them, just be careful not to leave it on a roaring hot pan as it could melt.
