Short life…. yet again….. This is the second Bodum kettle that I have purchased…. my first one lasted around 18 months and then again as I liked the design I decided to purchase another one after the lid broke after a very short time , with my new kettle when I boil the kettle a smell of burning electrics is given off….. that’s my final purchase now and I’ve moved on to a dualit kettle ….. fingers crossed it’ll last more than a few months!Judging by the reviews here it seems that I’m not the only one who has…

Looks good, boils quick, but feels cheap. Really like the look of this kettle, it matches the bread-bin perfectly & does boil quite quickly. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out it’s not really the quality you’d expect from Bodum & I do fear for how long it’ll survive. The lid isn’t the best design, the outer shell gets far hotter than I was expecting from a plastic body & it regularly smells of over-heating electrics, which is worrying.

Not great Rubbish. The lid will not close properly. Takes several attempts to do this. Made of cheap plastic. I will perivere for now but I suspect I have wasted £30. This was reduced from £40+ to £30. Does boil pretty quick but not happy with it overall.
